Luca's Cucina
About This Spot
Stepping up to Luca’s Cucina, you’re greeted not by bustling noise or bright lights, but by a quiet, welcoming presence that feels like a neighbor’s warm invitation. This takeout-only spot carries the unmistakable charm of a family kitchen, where every order is a small, personal moment shared between hosts and guests. The pace here is unhurried, thoughtful — a gentle reminder that good food deserves care and conversation, even if it's enjoyed on the go.
The atmosphere at Luca’s Cucina unfolds through genuine human connection rather than décor. The owners’ warmth is nearly tangible, creating an experience that goes beyond quick meals. The familiar scents of fresh pasta, melting mozzarella, and slowly simmered sauces flow through the air, setting the tone before you even unwrap your meal. It’s the kind of place where you might find yourself lingering on a quick call with the chef or swapping stories while your food is prepared, far from the anonymous rush of typical takeout joints.
On the menu, traditional Italian comfort meets a careful attention to freshness and texture. Dishes like gnocchi, hand-rolled and cooked just right, offer a tender, satisfying bite that speaks of authentic technique and home cooking. The risotto, meatballs, and crispy arancini suggest time-honored recipes carried forward with pride, while seafood options hint at coastal inspirations, all paired thoughtfully with simple breads that elevate every bite.
What makes Luca’s Cucina linger in memory is the balance of familiar flavors and thoughtful portions, paired with an atmosphere of warmth and genuine care. It’s a rare find—a place where the food is heartfelt, the servings generous, and the experience quietly personal—even when enjoyed from home or on the move.

In town to catch a flight the next morning, didn't want chain food. Found this wonderful, authentic mom and pop Italian place. They only serve to go orders, but that worked great for me. The owners are very down to earth, friendly and make you feel at home. I ordered when I arrived so I had time to talk. Great conversation, love the atmosphere and the food was eccellente! Highly recommend if you are in town and don't mind food to go.

This is a hidden gem ! The food is delicious ! Just how Italian should be, light and flavorful. The butter sage for the Ravioli Al Farmaggio is such a pleasant surprise. The gnocchi is cooked perfectly. The rice balls are . The pistachio Ricotta cake and tiramisu, yummm. Lucas and his wife are so warm & friendly. The complimentary almond cookies & espresso are almost as sweet as them ! ;) You sense their genuine spirits. We loved their personal touch with family photos and the places in Italy where they are from. Loved hearing an Italian accent and how they spoke Italian :) ! They don’t need the fancy venue or twist in their food to be loved. Just good old basic Italian done right. We felt right at home with them and their magnificent cuisine. Thank you for choosing this area to give us a little taste of a ITALIA ! Come to Lucas’ to mangia !! Sincerely, A Bronx girl of half Italian descent hehe

This place is the hidden gem of Delco! Some of the most authentic and generous portions of Italian food I’ve had in the area. The staff is extremely nice and welcoming. I highly recommend the meatballs and arincini as an app and the Cacio e Pepe as the entree. I’ve honestly never had an off meal from here. Besides the phenomenal taste and friendly staff the prices are so reasonable. 2 apps, 2 entrees, and 2 desserts cost me around $60 and I got the more expensive entrees! I would put this place up there with any of the top Italian spots in the city (I’ve eaten at all of them).

Lucas Cucina is one of the most amazing family owned Italian ristorante that is off the grid.. you must try the food if you haven’t already !!! The gnocchi’s are made fresh daily!! Serving sizes are more than enough , in my honest opinion I think the owners are under charging for the proportions you get! Tonight I got the spaghetti scoglio I couldn’t have been any more satisfied. As I rushed to write this review I saw another written by Chris O’Neill who said “the sauce taste like ketchup” first off I can attest to the sauce not coming anywhere close to the taste of ketchup .. BUTTTT this is also a guy who left a 5 star review for Bertucci’s … clearly he prefers frozen meals over fresh.

Great to see this new place with some interesting Italian dishes. We tried the arancini appetizer which was just ok. The gnocchi with tomato sauce was really good, as was the gnocchi cacio e pepe, but it was more like an alfredo sauce than traditional cacio. Chicken parm was pretty average, and desserts were good, though I ordered 3 and only received 2.
